Plein Publiek takes over the Palais de la Dynastie

Plein Publiek has been known as a hotspot in the hip city of Antwerp for a few years, now. The concept, which combines eating, drinking, dancing and culture, has had crowds flocking to the greenhouse venue. But now, a second Plein Publiek greenhouse has been created, right in the historic heart of our capital. Hello Plein Publiek BXL! The greenhouse has been constructed inside the monumental Palais de la Dynastie building at the foot of the Mont des Arts (Kunstberg).

you can drop by Plein Publiek BXL for a diverse assortment of brunches, concerts, jazz and dance nights, vintage markets, fashion shows, workshops and closet sales. Plus, a generous helping of art: ‘Beyond Bruegel’ is an innovative art experience that combines new technologies with classic Bruegel paintings to produce a new way to encounter art – the works of the Flemish Master seem to come to life and it's like stepping into the fascinating world that he captured.

The greenhouse also houses the traditional Plein Publiek fixtures of a bar and a contemporary restaurant. The menu was created by ‘Jong Keukengeweld’ (Flanders Kitchen Rebels) chef Gilles Melchior, who has won accolades with his restaurant of the same name and previously earned his stripes at the Hof van Cleve. Melchior carries over the Bruegel theme into the food on offer at Plein Publiek BXL, treating visitors to his original takes on classic Flemish cuisine.

The Beyond Bruegel exhibition opens to the public in April. But in the meantime, you can already eat, dance and enjoy the sunny terrace at Plein Publiek.
